Just in case you are interested…
I’m professionally a computer guy and in my spare time I dabble in loads of stuff, including music, game design, electronics, morris dancing, more computery things, philosophy, juggling, homebrewing and laziness. I’m not particularly good at any of them, having the general habit of acquiring a basic level of competence and then moving on to something else. I also like playing boardgames when the opportunity arises, which isn’t as often as it used to be.
Miss B is a schoolgirl who likes fairies, robots, princesses, pirates, ponies, dinosaurs and reading, amongst other things. I’ve taken on a mission to introduce her to some more interesting games than the ones that get stocked at the local toy shops (as well as some of those that we do find there) and we’ve been having fun with that.
From time to time I blog about the whole endeavour. It’s pretty sporadic as you can see.

Great project here i love reading about the monkey’s exploration of new games.
On another note could you maybe give me some recommendations for games based around language use. I would like to incorporate more of them into my classroom.

I can’t think of any games in my collection that would really fit for you there, but you might like to try looking at “Apples to Apples”, which a lot of people like. It’s basically about trying to choose the best noun to fit a given adjective. It’s a widely available game and over here costs in the region of £20 to £25.

Hi Patrik. Thanks for the comment. 🙂 Unfortunately I got rid of our copy of Secret Labyrinth a while back. It looks like the rules don’t even exist on Board Game Geek, which is really frustrating — if I had realised, I would have uploaded a scan before getting rid of it. Sorry to be unable to help, and good luck on your quest.
